Call to Worship

In you, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness.
Turn your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue;  be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me.
Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me.
Free me from the trap that is set for me, for you are my refuge.
Into your hands I commit my spirit; redeem me,
O LORD, the God of truth. But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, "You are my God."
My times are in your hands;
deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me.
Psalms 31: 1-5, 14,15

There is a new card on the foyer table for Brent Durham.  Please take the time this morning to sign it to encourage him through this difficult time in his life.

If you have volunteered to help out during the egg hunt, please see Brenda for your station assignment sheet so you will know what you will be doing the day of the hunt.

If you would like something placed in the bulletin, please submit it by the Thursday at 5:00PM deadline to insure that it makes that weeks bulletin.

Know Him, Love Him, Share Him

Know Him...
Encouragement from John and Brenda. Thought for your journey:

Life is a walk.  Each day we take steps.
Our tomorrow is determined by the steps we take today.

Love Him...

Pint Size Pulpit

Appeal: (Choose the correct definition.)
a. The quality of being desirable.
b. The outside of a banana.
c. An important request.
d. In southern portions of the USA, a small solid medicine taken when ill, or a cantankerous child.
e. All of the above.
Welcome to Appeal Sunday at Laurelwood. You may have responded “e” to the question above, but today I would like to focus on answers “a” and “c.”
So come back next week if you want to hear about banana peels!
As we end our series on “Commitment to Christ,” we have set aside today as our ‘Appeal Sunday.’ Today is a day for us to reconsider our regular giving to the annual operating fund here at Laurelwood. We call this our ‘regular offering.’ This is an appeal—a very important and urgent request—there will be no pledge cards for you to fill out or sign. The pledge you make today or in the upcoming month will be between you and God. But there is some paperwork for us to deal with today.
I hope that you find the Lord’s Kingdom your fondest desire. How is status of your relationship to Jesus? Is he your ‘first love”? We give our money to things that appeal to us: sporting events, concerts, technology (that one hits close to home).
Today’s discussion will not be high pressure, but it will be very direct and personal. I hope you find our appeal very appealing.

A Chance to Grow!

Starting this Sunday Evening at 6:00 PM, we begin our Small Groups Training Class. This class is open to anyone from those who just want to take part in a small group, those who want to be a leader, to those who want to host one.  Child care will be provided so all can attend.  See you there!
