Call to Worship

Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,

Psalms 105:1-5

Small Group Training - Sunday Nights
Come one come all!

The small group study has started on Sunday nights; 6PM @ the church building. The class will focus on how to have small groups and make them effective for the body and visitors. Come and learn together as the church prepares for this important ministry.

Durham collection
There will be a special collection for the Durham family on Sunday April 27th. The money raised will help Susan get special medical attention for her liver cancer. Please pray and consider how you can contribute.

Last chance! If you have not had the chance to sign the card on the foyer table for Brent Durham please, do so today.

Warrior’s on April 27th we will be going to see a movie. For this event you will need to bring a bag lunch to eat here at the building and enough money for the movie and any treats you will want there.  We will also have everyone write a short note to our troops to encourage them and let them know that we appreciate all that they are doing.

“Raising a Modern Day Knight” is the topic of the Men’s Integrity Group, which will be meeting on Tuesday, April 22, from 7:45 to 9:00 PM.

Know Him, Love Him, Share Him

Know Him...
Encouragement from John and Brenda. Thought for your journey:

God wants you to be so convinced of His presence in your life that even when you can’t feel it,
sense it, or see it, you know He is there.

Stormie OMartin

Love Him...

Pint Size Pulpit

A whopping 84 percent of the adults polled by Family Circle magazine said they think Americans worship money. But when asked to name what was most important to them personally, these were the overwhelming responses in order:

  • Family and friends
  • Good health
  • Money

It's not surprising that in these uncertain times, we would look inward to hearth and home and yearn for the things that really do matter most.  Most of us do think it's important to own a home--and that takes big bucks--we're also putting a premium on saving money and becoming free of debt.
But the truth is, people really care about the things that money can't buy.
What started as materialism after World War II turned into a full-blown case of luxury fever in the 1980s and 1990s. Think about it! You could buy a backyard grill for $8,000. You could get a gold-plated car. "We are in such a commercial society that it's easy for us to be distracted, to lose sight of what's important.” Now many of us are asking: What does it mean to live in a world that seems so insecure and uncertain?
The Center for a New American Dream asked people what it was they wanted that money couldn't buy. Here are some of the answers posted on the group's Web site:

  • Happiness
  • Freedom
  • Love
  • Peace, tranquility, and economic and social justice for all
  • Clean water, fresh air, and an unobstructed horizon
  • Time to do the things we really want to do:
  • Prayer, family, reading, needlework, gardening, all the things that make life joyful
  • Rekindle a long-lost friendship
  • A world where children can grow up feeling safe
  • The courage to say what I feel and what needs to be said
  • Peace of mind
  • To be surrounded by family and friends

Share Him...

What a wonderful opportunity we had yesterday to reach out and get to know our community.  Thank you to EVERYONE who shared in making the hunt a success, both by lending your help yesterday and in various ways over the planning stage. It would not have happened without your willing help!
