Call to Worship

Stand up and bless the Lord your God
from everlasting to everlasting:
Blessed be your glorious Name which is exalted above all blessing and praise.
You are the Lord, you alone.
You have made heaven with all its host, the earth and all that is on it,
the seas and all that is in them, and you preserve all of them.
The host of heaven worships you.
Amen.

Philippians 3:7-14

Know Him, Love Him, Share Him

Know Him...

Encouragement from John and Brenda. Thought for your journey:

Don’t ask God for what you thing is good;
Ask Him for what He thinks is good for you

Love Him...

Pint Size Pulpit

Brethren, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 3:13-14

I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. I Corinthians 9:23

In the final minutes and seconds, the coach calls the entire team over to the bench. Forgotten are the individual successes and failures- there is no mention of past fumbles or missed blocks- no blame for a missed tackle or a mental mistake. No one says “Hey, remember that touchdown I scored?” Because as important as each step and misstep might be, each belongs to the past.

who is YOUR glory?

The present has shrunk to 120 seconds. The place-kicker is as important as the coach, the equipment manager as needed as the fullback.  The coach wants everyone to focus on one thing- the goal, the prize, the victory.

The team has worked hard and is close to breaking the game open. But it will not be easy. It will be a straining- a forgetting of trivial differences, of past mistakes and past glory. It is digging in and finding a strength that we did not know we possessed—one that comes from pressing on in faith—a strength that comes only from God.

As we prepare this last week for VBS let’s be reminded:  the goal and the prize for which we are working and preparing is God’s victory. Our VBS will only be a success if HE wins.

Ready…Break!,  Daniel.

Share Him...

Car Wash/VBS
VBS is coming soon, thank you to those that are helping to prepare and volunteering to play a part during VBS. As an encouragement to the adults; even if you are not directly involved in the VBS we are looking for a strong attendance during the VBS adult classes.  You will meet the visitor, enjoy the kids, and also hear an inspirational message.
Free Car Wash Flyers and VBS Flyers are available on the foyer table.  Take a few and hand them out to your friends, neighbors, and family to let them know of these upcoming events.
Remember as you are inviting your friends that the VBS is for children ages 5-12 years old.  See you there!
