Call to Worship

Give ear, O heavens, and let the earth hear our words.
for we will proclaim the Name of the Lord.
Ascribe greatness to our God, for his work is perfect and his ways are just.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise.
Amen.

Scripture: Philippians 4:4-9

Announcements

Men’s Business Meeting
Guys don’t be a couch potato tomorrow night, go to the business meeting instead.
It starts at 7:30PM.

Game Night
On Saturday, July 26th, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.  Let the Boyles know if you are coming as they will be ordering pizza. What to bring? Money for pizza, games, and munchies.
Hope to see you there!

All in the Family

We have a new water cooler.  However we do not have the child safety knobs.  Most of the kids figure out the knobs before the adults, but the issue is that these can be lock on and we would end up with a flood. Please monitor your children.  Thank you.

At camp this week: Julie Strain and Nicole Porter.  You can send them a note at c/o Camp Manatawny  33 Camp Rd. Douglasville, Pa 19518

Next time you are out why not pick up some snacks that can be given to the kids during children’s worship and Wednesday night. Thanks

Last Chance! Please make sure to check your information on the new phone list to see if it is correct. If it’s correct place a CHECK by your name, if not make the corrections. Thanks

Pint Size Pulpit

On Tuesday, July 8, Toshiko Piperakis passed away. Yesterday we were
honored to host the memorial service for Toshiko.

Toshiko's words below were dictated to Harry some time ago and were read by Harry Jr. yesterday.

"God has given me many blessings, beginning from the time when I chose to become a Christian.  I had many problems, but God strengthened me, not only last year but from the very start. It's hard to believe because I have this illness, but he strengthens me in my illness. The World looks to the physical to see outer beauty and riches, but we can see and know the spiritual gifts that build our own spirits. We can see God's grace in the way he helped Ralph Harris, my Sister Pat (Connelly), my husband and myself.  I'm thankful and I rejoice that he gave me the spiritual strength to get through cancer and many operations.
One of my favorite scriptures is Phil. 4:4-9: Paul said, "Rejoice in the Lord always..."

he strengthens me in my illness

Toshiko's words bring another scripture to mind. James 1:2 My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any  kind, consider it nothing but joy.
Toshiko's words are going to be posted in my office at home. The next time I am anything less than joyful, please remind me to go read them. 'til we meet again,

Daniel
