Call to Worship
Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of our religion: God was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory. We have gathered in his presence. Let us worship him with pure hearts. Amen.
Announcements
Scrub, Scrub, Scrub lots of nursery toys in a tub Terry is looking for volunteers to stay after worship today to clean and disinfect the nursery toys. This should only take about 15 minutes if enough people help out.
Hippidy Hoppidy the egg hunt is on its way! Please, sign the commitment list on the foyer table indicating that you will set aside the morning of the hunt, Saturday, April 12th, to help out. It is also time to start filling eggs. If you are interested in filling them see Brenda or Benja.
Do you have any plastic Easter eggs you would like to donate for the egg hunt? If you do, please bring them in by March 2nd and let Benja or Brenda know as we will need to purchase the balance of what is not donated.
There is a list on the foyer table of all the children at Laurelwood. Please fill in your child’s/children’s birth date and grade, so that Barbara will be able to see which class each child should be assigned to. If that information is already included please, verify that it is correct. If it is not make any necessary changes.
Reminders: Even though our assembly was ‘snowed out’ last week, please make up the snow day by keeping your contribution current. So far this year we are doing better than last-let’s keep it up!

Know Him, Love Him, Share Him
Know Him... Encouragement from John and Brenda. Thought for your journey:
The only way you can fully embrace today is by letting go of yesterday..
Love Him...
Pint Size Pulpit
The word of the Lord came to me. “Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem: ‘I remember the devotion of your youth, how as a bride you loved me and followed me through the desert, through a land not sown. Israel was holy to the Lord, the firstfruits of his harvest; all who devoured her were held guilty, and disaster overtook them,’ declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 2:1-3 Often in the scriptures the wilderness is remembered as a time of faithlessness. After all, the people wandered for 40 years in the wilderness, after walking out of Egypt, because of their unbelief. Then there was that Achan thing, the sons of Korah, Nadab and Abihu, and who could forget the golden calf that just jumped out of the fire (poof!)? So it is a bit unexpected for God to bring up Israel’s and Judah’s faithfulness in the context of their wilderness wandering. But there was the moment after they escaped Pharaoh’s armies-they sang, they cheered, the partied—they were saved. Do you remember a similar moment in your life? A time when church was not about personalities and who does what and salvation was so fresh it could be tasted? In writing to the church at Ephesus, the angel compliments all they have going: deeds, hard work, perseverance, holiness in doctrine and practice, sacrifices and endurance of hardship for the name of Jesus. What a great church! We like to think of ourselves with those words don’t we? But then the other shoe falls. Let’s hear Jesus’ words: Revelation 2:4-5 “Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. Remember the heights from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come and remove you lampstand from its place.”
“Do you remember a time …when salvation was so fresh it could be tasted?”
